Plans to improve Legacy Park and the lakefront of Payette Lakes will be presented at the McCall Area Planning & Zoning Commission meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at McCall City Hall.
The improvement plan is funded by the McCall Redevelopment Agency, which issued 5 million in bonds last year.
Major components include constructing a boardwalk south of Brown Park, the creation of two non-motorized watercraft launch areas, shoreline rehabilitation and improvements to Legacy Park.
A 123-space parking lot will also be constructed as a part of the plan. The parking lot will also have 20 boat trailer spaces.
The lot will be constructed at the southeast corner of Mill and Fir streets. Future plans for the parking lot call for the lotto be the lower deck of a parking garage, though additional levels are not a part of the current plan.
The plans call for a grand staircase lined with alpine gardens from East Lake Street down to the park that will provide a connection to downtown.
The current restroom building at the park will be removed and a new building constructed under the southern-most overlook of the promenade that will be built with the project.
Fixtures from the current restroom will be saved and used in the new facility, the agency's plan said.
Concrete pathways will connect the Hotel McCall overlook and Pine Street overlook. The pathways will also access lower portions of the park that include the beachfront and amphitheater.
There will also be a lower pathway created for pedestrians and maintenance vehicles.
The pump house located between the main beach and an area of beach used by personal watercraft rental businesses will receive a new shell and will have a concessionaire using the structure, the plans said. Picnic tables will be located near the pump house and in the future small fruit trees will be planted there.
The beachfront will be reconfigured to provide a "contiguous linear beach" along the entire length of the lake.
The steep hill that separates the current park from East Lake Street will be reconstructed into a rolling hillside, the plans said.
An amphitheater will be constructed in a bowl at the southern end of the hillside near the new restroom location and downtown McCall.
The urban renewal district is the area northeast of the corner of East Park and Third streets to the intersection of Lick Creek Road and Davis Avenue west to the lakefront. It includes Brown and Legacy parks.
