Tamara Sandmeyer has been appointed executive director of the McCall Area Chamber of Commerce by the chamber's board of directors.
Sandmeyer has been a longtime resident of McCall, having worked previously for Valley County for 10 years. She lived in McCall during her summers while growing up.
She carries a bachelor's degree in social science and public affairs from Boise State University, and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Idaho.
Sandmeyer is a native Idahoan with extensive knowledge of the area and many of the longtime residents and businesses. She is the mother of two grown children.
"I'm proud of the chamber and to be appointed to this position," Sandmeyer said.
"I have to mention that this is an entirely new operation, due to the many member volunteers who put in literally hundreds of hours of their time and hard work to restore this organization to the credibility and viability it has now achieved," she said.
"Membership is growing daily and I believe this is the business community recognizing that we are a vital asset to our city, its visitors and residents," Sandmeyer said.
Also, Dessa Smith has been promoted to office manager of the chamber.
Smith moved to the Donnelly area over a year ago and began working at the chamber as an office assistant.
She comes to the area from the Boise valley and has had family living here for several years. She also is an Idaho native who spent her summers with her family in the area. She has two sons.
"The board is very pleased with the new staffing arrangement," chamber board president Don Parker said.
"We have two intelligent, committed and hard-working people who are very capable of handling the multitude of duties inherent in their positions" Parker said.
