Record crowds flock to McCall for the 4th of July
Discover McCall was at North Beach July 4th and 5th:
There must have been 450 to 500 people there July 4th and though it was severely overcrowded the atmosphere was jovial and festive.
We got there early, found a parking space and a patch of sand close to the water. Of course you had to wade through the boats and jet skis to get to the water but boat owners were polite.
I've always wondered what South Beach was like on Spring Break...
Kids were walking around openly with 2 beers in the left hand and an open one in their right. But everyone that we saw had bathing suits or clothes on. We had fun commenting on the fashion.
Stereos played music, BBQ's were fired up, chips and dip, beach towels, suntan lotion. Boats came and went and people played on jet skis.
And the weather was gloriously hot. Maybe I'm just tired of the snow but having a genuine beach day was awesome!
One student said that almost all of the kids at North Beach were from Boise State (BSU). I've been through the college grinder - I don't blame these kids a bit for needing to cut loose a little.
July 5th
The Beach was back to the normal 4th of July sized crowd. I kind of missed the kids...
