Wooden power boats will reclaim their place as the rulers of Payette Lake this weekend during the 2007 Payette Lake Classic Wooden Boat Show.

The show will be held at the public docks at Whitetail Resort. More than 30 wooden boats will be on display from 9 a.m. to dusk on Saturday and beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday. A parade of the boats will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is free to the public, and food and drinks will be available at Whitetail on the patio.
The U.S. Postal Service and the Payette Lakes Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society Inc. will celebrate the release of four commemorative stamps recognizing classic wooden boats.

New McCall Postmaster Jeff Robertson will officially hand cancel the U.S. Postal Service stamps which will be available for purchase at the show from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Robertson will present the Payette Lakes Chapter with a commemorative version of the stamps during the evening banquet, where local artist Scott Anderson's original 2007 McCall Classic Boat Show painting will be auctioned.

The Chris Craft Antique Boat Club has been in pursuit of a commemorative postage stamp recognizing vintage boats since the spring of 2002.

The stamps were officially released Aug. 4 in a ceremony at the Wooden Boat mUseum in Clayton, N.Y.
