(Note: This is the first in a regular series of stories about the activities surrounding the 2008 Masters World Cup to be held in McCall Feb. 28 through March 7, 2008)
The public is invited to the Hotel McCall on Saturday, Nov. 10, from noon to 3 p.m. to talk to the people who are organizing volunteers for the Masters World Cup Nordic Race.
McCall expects to host up to 1,000 racers during the race, and the organizers will need more than 150 volunteers per day with more than 50 people needed at the banquet alone.
During the open house event, prospective volunteers will have a chance to see the various jobs and can sign up that night for dates and times. Refreshments will be served.
Organizers will attend from the aid stations, start/finish area, banquet, on-course help, hospitality and venue preparation.
Homeowners also are needed to house volunteers from outside of the area. The coordinator in charge of housing will attend the Nov. 10 event.
