Cascade is situated in the majestic mountains of central Idaho, approximately 75 miles north of Boise the state’s capital. Cascade offers year-round outdoor sports and recreation for everyone. Lake Cascade, one of the top fisheries in Idaho, is well known for its excellent fishing all year round. For winter sports enthusiasts, the Cascade area has over 800 miles of groomed snowmobile trails as well as 27 km of Nordic ski trails. A beautiful and challenging nine-hole golf course graces the shores of Lake Cascade. The City also hosts several invitational softball tournaments at its sports park which includes two baseball diamonds, a football field, picnic area, playground & concession stand and is also home of Fischers Pond with public fishing . Hunting, camping, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding and rafting are just a few of the outdoor recreational opportunities available in the summer months. Cascade is the gateway to the Frank Church Wilderness area. Back country ranches are accessible from the Cascade Airport, with approximately 4700 ft of paved and lighted runway. Cascade is home to approximately 1,050 permanent residents and it is the county seat for Valley County.
